Firstly, I need to apologise for the lack of updates to the club website over the last couple of weeks - especially as it's the start of the season. I've got a good excuse though ... I'm on holiday!
I'm typing this using a free internet terminal on the Interislander Ferry from Picton to Wellington ... that's in New Zealand by the way! As I type, I'm looking out at the bluest sea you can imagine with mountains on the distant horizon ... better than what I usually see out of the window when I write to you by a mile.
The holiday has been a blast so far and I've only been woken in the middle of the night 3 times by people who can't tell the time ... I won't name names at the moment but ... you know who you are ... Afterall, I did want to know how the 1st XV got on in their first match of the season.
As I mentioned earlier, I'm on the ferry travelling from the South Island of NZ to the North. After a day watching Whales yesterday, I'm getting ready for watching Wales on Sunday. As it will also be my birthday, I'm hoping that I'll get the birthday present that I ordered and we'll beat South Africa!
Before that though, I'll be hoping for a win for the Zebras v Merthyr ... we produced an excellent display last season to beat the Steelmen and I'm sure that nothing less than that will be needed if we are to equal last season's achievement.
The Youth and Development teams are also in action tomorrow - Home to Rhydyfelin and away to Tylorstown respectively.
That's all from me for now - I'm hoping for better internet access on North Island so I may get a chance to update the website ... please be patient if I can't.
I'll give Wales a cheer for you on Sunday, so make sure you cheer a Zebra team for me on Saturday please.
